Woke up this morning, got ready and have been sitting here working on this website and others I run for the past 4 1/2 hours now. There's just so much to do in such a short 24 hours, too bad I can't push it to 25 or 26 hours in a day. Just think how much you could get done if we had a extra hour or two, heck if I could go without sleep, I could really get a bunch done!
Added some new stuff to the website like my "Published/Awards" (still working on this page", changed the blog name to Wicked Blog, rearranged some things and pulled my prices so that I can re-re-re-adjust them to something a little more practical to my new approach on my elder photography business. Been into photography for really as long as I can remember. I love everything about photography, the people, the memories captured, the processes involved, the equipment, everything. I don't live and breath photography, but I'm just as contempt working on an image as I am doing anything else. And while my time, talent and images do cost, I give a bunch of all away, mostly in the form of advice and help to old friends, new friends and yes, even strangers.

Well I've been busy over the past few months working on some new stuff. Lots of new images and re-worked art pieces will soon grace this website. For those interested, I have some of my artwork and images for sale and you can find the link under the "Art for Sale" tab.
I try to keep the Wicked Light Photography website fresh and updated with new images, text and links. Today I decided to change the whole site, just to do a little Fall cleaning. Besides the general overall changes that might or might not be apparent, I turned the interesting text to orange including the menu fly-overs. The background sprung forward with the removal of a solid black image to that of an image I took then worked on from a couple of years ago. I took the picture along the I30 Tollway between Buda and Austin. The sun was setting and it was a cool Fall day, hence the "Sunset in the Fall" heading on this blog entry.
I also added the Wicked Light Photography logo which was created by Jon Goree a few years back. Jon is a graphic designer in Austin, Tx and works freelance, so if you need a good logo, brochure or any other design work, let me know and I'll give you his number...(hopefully I can get a site up for him soon) New pictures will be added over the next few weeks. I'm working on a few projects, a couple that are almost done and a couple that I've yet to start, so check back often for updates. On a side note, I'm starting a Social Media Management and Marketing Company named Austin Media Slingers. I've been doing this a few years free for several small businesses and fellow photographers. Now it's time to get paid, if you are in need of someone to make your company look great, check me out. I provide basic management of your social profiles to full on social media marketing management and charge by the hour or via one of my budget conscience package deals. My website is under construction right now, but will be up by this coming Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by, Brad So I haven't posted a lot of new work, but that doesn't mean that I'm taking a break either. Actually, I've been working on a whole new set of images that will be ready to post in a couple of weeks or maybe even sooner. I've decided to turn back to my roots and shoot a bunch of landscape type images with some historic architectural elements and new age original stuff thrown in the mix. I love the process of re-inventing myself with expansive new projects that push my knowledge well beyond what I've always been comfortable shooting. Soon, real soon, I will bring the human element into the natural landscape one. For me at least, it will be groundbreaking, offering my viewers a rare glimpse into a project that I started planning well over two years ago. Due to time constraints and the lack of location usage, it is now that this project shall begin...
New work, tomorrow, and the grasp of today...it's ever ending, ne So I've recently added a "Print Store" page to the Wicked Light Photography website that highlights a select grouping of my images and digital artwork. Everything within the store is was taken or created by me, Brad Leese and is copyrighted through Wicked Light Photography. Every week I'll pick a different set of images from my vast image portfolio and will post them on this page for sale. Any digital art on this page was created using one of my photographs as the original starting point and working the image through the use of Photoshop and other digital mediums to create the final piece of art. I refine my images from their raw state to give you, the viewer, the true picture as I saw it the day I pressed the shutter button. Due to changing light conditions, wind, and the fact that I choose to shoot RAW images that are not processed within my camera like jpegs are, the original image that almost always comes from my camera isn't to my liking until I've been able to add my spin to show you exactly what I was thinking the second the photograph was taken.
The images within the store are moderately priced, but are printed on professional, top end papers and canvas. The quality of the work along with the quality of the finished print justifies a premium price that is also affordable. I have several projects planned this Summer, some of which just came up do to a major change in plans that I found out yesterday. I'm trying to get on with one or two outfits that shoot event type photography and I'm also going to be working on some straight stock images. As an ongoing project, I've been working on creating a series of more creative artsy pieces to sell to galleries and interior designers, so hopefully by Summers end I'll be done with that. Other wise I have a few new images that will be on this site and the Brad Leese Photography website.
I have big things planned for Wicked Light Photography and have slowly started transitioning my more creative stuff over to the Brad Leese Photography site leaving my more raw pictures here for the time being. On a different note, if you are reading this and you're a photography student or educator, please check out another site that I own and run called Photo Student Discounts. It features discounts and special savings on a number of photographic products and related services from personally verified companies with some deals being exclusive to the PSD website viewers. I've been busy doing this and that, but mostly this...Photography is still my life, it surges through my veins, and my mind records everything that I see. I capture images that mean something to me, pictures that convey more than just a simple smile.
I've started my venture into a world that is unfamiliar to me. Alternative processes, new graphic media converged with everyday images, and images within images, all of which have raised the bar on my creativity and will soon be presented to you, the viewer. I've been reading a bunch of other photography blogs lately and have found that most don't bring the reader any insightful information. In fact, most of the helpful info comes from the reader's comments left below the original statement. I plan on making sure that my blog will reflect exactly what I'm thinking and feeling at the time and will include at least some helpful info. I will not bore you with tutorials for software you don't own, but instead give you some pointers on proper photography using both a point and shoot camera and a DSLR. I shoot with Nikon, but am well versed in other camera brands too. I'm also open to answering questions you may have, so ask away.
